15 Jan The magic of trusting
I didn’t know if I was going to get to this magic place in Mustang in Nepal before christmas 2014. But the weather cleared up and I was lucky to catch the flight from Pokhara to Jomsom after seven days of it being cancelled. I then took a Jeep from Jomsom to Kagbeni that took one hour. I then easily found a man that could guide me to the village where I was going to stay with the Lama I had met before. We hiked by foot for five hours. The weather condition for the day was amazing. As opposed to the one day it took me to get there from Pokhara, it took me four days on my return when I walked for four days due to heavy snow fall, blocked roads, avalanches and more.
I am so glad that I took the painting material with me to my private ancient Himalayan mountain retreat kingdom. I almost didn’t as I was going to walk for a few hours and needed to keep the weight down. Also, I didn’t think it would be possible to paint there due to the cold and the primitive living conditions. But it was perfect. Everything I needed was there. I spent eleven days painting this mandala, in the most peaceful place on this earth, surrounded by the mighty Himalayan kingdom. In solitude, I spent the most precious time with the Lama drinking countless cups of chi tea and eating great food. I am so grateful for this special time.
This is truly feels like returning to the kingdom of my soul. If you ever feel drawn to this place and want to go, let me know. I am happy to be your guide. 🙂
